Lukas Mästle Gör to the IN MOTU - UHLMANN - HEMA - FENCING JACKET

We involved experienced fencers throughout the entire development of the fencing jacket in order to create the best possible product within our framework.

The youngest tester is one of the most experienced tournament fencers in the German HEMA scene. Therefore, I'm delighted that he spent a lot of time testing the jacket last weekend.

"My brief thoughts on the jacket: I was pleasantly surprised after seeing a previous prototype at the THFD last year, which I found less convincing due to its limited protective effect. However, the current model is really well-made. Compared to my BlackArmoury 800N jacket (previously my favorite jacket), the protection in the upper arms and shoulders is better, but slightly worse in the frontal area over the torso. The latter has been remedied by adding the leather plastron; unlike a plastic plastron, the leather is also more comfortable to wear. The forearms have virtually no padding, so additional protection is definitely necessary here. Although somewhat heavier than the Blackarmoury model, the jacket is just as comfortable to wear, and mobility is very good. Even with a mask, I can easily wear an Ochs or other tall hats. The Uhlmann neck protector with wings (unfortunately no longer available) also fits well under the jacket.

Overall, I think it's perfectly suitable for tournaments with the leather plastron; without it, it's no problem for regular sparring, I'd say. If I needed a new jacket, I actually think I'd go for this one. Around €250 (without the plastron, I suspect) seems absolutely reasonable."

The jacket is currently undergoing CE testing at a certified institute. Sales will begin as soon as the CE tests have been successfully completed and we have received the necessary certificates to market the jacket in accordance with applicable law.
