Recommendations for the care of fencing clothing

What armor is to the knight and combat uniform to the soldier, fencing clothing is to us fencers.

Our fencing jackets and trousers are high-end products designed to protect you. To ensure optimal protection, they naturally require proper care and attention. By presenting a good appearance with well-maintained equipment, we demonstrate our professionalism to other fencers and, before a fight, to our opponents.

Your safety is our top priority. Therefore, we would like to provide you with some care instructions. Our fencing clothing is made from the highest quality materials. However, every material wears out. To maintain this quality for as long as possible, the equipment must be treated properly and with care. Therefore, the following tips and advice are applicable not only to our products but also to everyone.

Protect the surfaces of your jackets from unnecessary external mechanical stress. Don't simply throw jackets and trousers on the floor or push them around with your feet. Always hang your jackets neatly on a hanger or hook, or over the back of a chair. Store them in a dry place in a closet or bag. Make sure you store, keep, and transport them separately from your blades or other hard and potentially sharp equipment.

Always close the Velcro fasteners to avoid unnecessary damage to the surface. We recommend transporting your clothes in a separate laundry bag to protect them from the Velcro fasteners on other gear.

It's also important that your blades and hilts are always free of nicks and sharp edges and corners. Notches on blades, in particular, can cause significant damage to fencing equipment. Especially when they are used carelessly in combat or training, we unnecessarily damage our fellow fencers' clothing. If everyone takes care of their fencing equipment, we will all protect each other. We bear responsibility not only for ourselves, but also for our fellow fencers!

Our St. George jacket and trousers are specifically designed for washing in washing machines. Please follow the instructions on the labels and in the instructions. These garments are not suitable for tumble drying or dry cleaning.
