Current information on the St. George product line

The story of St. George continues

Current status: August 3, 2026

The news of the impending closure of Uhlmann Fechtsport has now reached many people in the fencing world. This development also fills us with great sadness.

Uhlmann played a crucial role in enabling the development and production of our certified St. George HEMA protective equipment. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the trusting collaboration, the support in product development, and the shared journey. We deeply regret that this long-established company will be closing.

What does the closure mean for St. George?

The St. George jackets and trousers have not previously been produced continuously for stock. We collected orders over a quarter and then sent them to Uhlmann as a single production batch.

The announced closure therefore presents us with the task of establishing new production methods for this product line. However, the most important news is:

The closure of Uhlmann should not mean the end of St. George.

We are already working intensively to create the legal, technical, and manufacturing prerequisites for continued operations. This includes clarifying the necessary certification and CE documentation, as well as establishing reliable production with suitable manufacturing partners.

Our goal is to make the transition after the end of current production in October as seamless as possible and to continue offering St. George products in the same quality and with the necessary certification.

What happens to existing orders?

All orders received so far are being processed. The majority of orders received up to and including June have already been manufactured. As things stand, a few more St. George suits can still be produced by Uhlmann.

All other customers with open orders will be contacted personally by us and informed about the current status, the available options and the next steps.

No one needs to worry about experiencing any disadvantages as a result of the change. We will take care of every outstanding order and find a reliable solution for every affected order.

Can new orders be placed?

As there is no reliable date yet for the next production batch, we are currently not accepting any new paid orders for St. George jackets and trousers.

On the respective product pages, you have the option to receive free and non-binding information about the next order launch. This entry is not an order and not a binding reservation.

As soon as the new production, the required documentation and a reliable delivery period are confirmed, we will reopen the ordering option.

What are the next steps?

Setting up a new, reliably functioning, and legally compliant production facility requires meticulous care. Especially when it comes to certified personal protective equipment, we will not take any shortcuts.

Temporary delays cannot be completely ruled out. We will provide transparent updates on all significant progress and the timeline on this page.

Our sincere thanks go to Uhlmann for the outstanding collaboration and their crucial contribution to the development of the St. George product line. This joint effort will remain an integral part of its history.

The story of St. George does not end here. It continues under new circumstances.
