The IN MOTU Historical Line Austrian Cavalry Sabers It is based on the Austrian cavalry saber models of the second half of the 19th century, as they were used in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy until the introduction of the model in 1904.
The historically inspired cavalry hilt is combined with a modern spring steel blade, creating a training weapon that blends historical aesthetics with the demands of contemporary historical fencing. The result is a saber ideally suited for technical training, sparring, and competition, while also excelling in stage combat or historical reenactments.

Historical inspiration
The hilt of this model is based on Austrian cavalry saber models from the second half of the 19th century.
These sabers were distinguished by their distinctive steel bell guard, excellent hand protection, and balanced handling. They shaped the Austro-Hungarian military saber for decades and influenced numerous historical fencing systems.
The IN MOTU Historical Line cavalry saber adopts the characteristic design language of these historical models and combines it with a modern training construction.
Historical aesthetics meet modern function
While the hilt adopts the design of historical cavalry sabers, the blade was consistently developed for today's training operations.
The high-quality spring steel blade offers the necessary flexibility and safety for historical fencing while also impressing with its exceptional durability. This makes the saber suitable for both controlled technical training and intensive sparring and competitions.
Depending on personal preference, one can choose between a straight or curved blade to get voted.
Developed from research and practical experience
The selection of historical models is based on many years of studying original historical weapons and European fencing sources.
At the same time, over twenty years of practical experience as a fencing master, trainer, active HEMA competitor and weapons developer are incorporated into the compilation and further development of the Historical Line.
This is how training weapons are created that respect historical models while simultaneously meeting the requirements of modern fencers.

Care Instructions
The blade is made of high-quality spring steel and should be cleaned and lightly oiled regularly. After intensive sparring, a visual inspection for damage and removal of any abrasion is recommended.
Safety note
This training weapon was developed for Historical European Artistic Fencing (HEMA). Despite the blunted blade and safety tip, there is a risk of injury if used improperly. We recommend wearing appropriate protective gear and training under qualified instruction.
Delivery
The delivery of the IN MOTU Historical Line cavalry saber starts from August 2026.
